I like the library because it makes me merry. I go there to read books. And sometimes, I have to admit I get hooked on the books.

At the West County Area Library, computers are just down the hall; and made available for all to enjoy.

I like the library because; it has all kinds of activities for the whole family to enjoy. For example, the library has computer classes, famous authors as guest speakers, game night and a summer reading program.

I like the library because; it has plenty of light; so my eyes won’t get tight from dim lights.

I like the library because it is relaxing, educating, and enjoyable. The library will not put a frown on my face; because it makes me merry.

Read, learn, grow and thrive.
Anything is possible
What do you desire?

I can’t imagine not having the public library in my life. The world would feel noticeably colder and darker without it. The library is and has always been a place of meaning and happiness for me. From the time my mother first took me to enjoy fairy tales as a little girl, to my current study of foreign languages, with all the fiction and non-fiction between and since, the library has been a center of good things. I fervently hope it will continue forever to share its joy and riches with all of us.

Anne Arundel County Libraries have always been very welcoming. They have a wide variety of reading material and DVD’s. The librarians are always willing to assist you in any way that they can. They are always very informative and encouraging you to try new things. They offer many shows and programs that entertain both adults and children. This summer spent at Anne Arundel County Libraries has been a great one from the start of summer till now. The summer is now wrapping up and school is about to begin I have had an enjoyable summer all because of the our great Maryland libraries.
Thank you for your time.

They greet us with smiles and a friendly face,
they walk with knowledge and full of grace,
of listening with an open mind,
ever so helpful, caring and kind.

They are interested in what you have to say,
they ask the right questions to guide your way
they say a goodbye when its time to leave
even listen to some of us who have a pet peeve.

They work harder than most of us do
their goal is someone important and yes its you.
so please take the time to do as I say
thank them with your heart every day.

For it takes a special person who really does care
to make sure we are taken care of is sometimes rare
for those of us that are helped and sometimes in need
need to return the favor and do a good deed.

So take the time and be the first to smile
as a smile can be shared for a very long while
take the time to listen and learn
for we have great librarians whom we are happy to have earned.

I dedicate this poem to all of my teachers who tried to teach me to be more creative. I thank Lisa for telling me about the “I Love AACPL Program”. I thank my mother for being my editor, and I especially thank AACPL for creating this program. This program put me to the challenge to see if I had any creativity. I had fun this summer! Thank you all again!

STRAIGHT FROM MY HEART

I sat in school all broken hearted.
English class had just started.
Our teacher had assigned us to write a poem,
An original one, never spoken.

The teacher continues to teach,
The words that just might reach.
“Here are the rules that you must take.
Follow them and you might Ace!”

What to do now?

I don’t know how.
I never wrote well
Poems that could sell!

The years have past.
Now I see a library contest!
“Create something that shows how you like us!
No grades, but you might get
A terrific gift certificate!”

Here I sit now,
Words flow, I think now I know that,
Teachers who only gave me a start,
Wanted me to write praises to the library
That flow straight from my heart!

Thank you AACPL for giving knowledge that is priceless!
