My family and I LOVE the A.A. County Public Libraries because there are many convenient locations; they are free to everyone; they offer a wide variety of books, music, movies, classes, and more; the staff are always happy and helpful; and there are many educational programs for the entire family.
We started going to the library when our daughter was a baby. We would check out many books at a time to read in the library, in the car, at doctor offices, at home – where ever we were, we could always take a good book with us to read. As our daughter got older, she would help pick out the books and VHS tapes that we would get. Did you know that you can take out 100 books per library card? All for FREE. We have enjoyed story time at night. Our daughter would put on her pjs and say, “Mommy and daddy, let’s go – time to go to the library to read, hear stories, sing songs, and do crafts.” Our daughter has participated in the Summer Reading Program since she was 1 1/2 years old. She looks forward to signing up every summer. We are very happy that the library has the Summer Reading Club for adults too. Our daughter got her own library card when she was four years old. She was so proud to write her own name on her card at the library and check out her own items. She went home from the library that night and called her grandpa and every one else to tell them about her own library card. The library staff at our library all know us by name because we are there so often and check out tons of stuff. Our daughter checks out stacks of books at one time, goes home and reads them all usually in one night. The next day she is back at the library returning them and getting another stack to read. We highly recommend the library to EVERYONE. There is so much to see and do.
To all that work, volunteer, and put on programs at the library – THANK YOU for all you do!!
